About This Trip
A 3-night mountain escape to one of Uttarakhand’s best kept secrets. Chopta sits at 2,680 metres surrounded by dense rhododendron forests with no crowds and no chaos. We trek up to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world at 3,680 metres, with views of Nanda Devi, Trishul and Chaukhamba that stop you mid-sentence. Nights at a boutique forest homestay with a bonfire, local food, and the kind of silence you forgot existed.
Day-wise Itinerary
- Day 1Depart Delhi Friday evening from Majnu Ka Tila, overnight drive to Chopta in AC tempo traveller
- Day 2Arrive Chopta early morning, freshen up and acclimatise, trek to Tungnath temple and Chandrashila peak, bonfire and dinner at homestay
- Day 3Early morning walk to Deoria Tal for sunrise, explore Chopta meadows, free afternoon, group dinner
- Day 4Morning tea with mountain views, depart for Delhi, arrive by evening
